Warm Weather Drinks

With the temperature set to hit 70 this week in Redwood City, I got back in the swing of things with some cocktail mixing last night and used the Small Hand Foods line up to make some pretty refreshing drinks.  I toyed with some of the recipes on Jennifer Colliau's website and made my fiancee the best libations she'd had in some time.  I thought I'd pass them on because they're simply too good to not drink yourself, especially with the sun shining so brightly!

Margarita (smoky variation)

1 1/2 oz. mezcal

1 oz. (and a wee bit more) of Small Hand Foods Pineapple Gum Syrup

3/4 oz. of fresh squeezed lime juice (but lemon juice also works)

Shake vigorously with ice and strain into a cocktail glass

Jack Rose Variation

2 oz. Calvados or Applejack

3/4 oz. of lemon or lime juice

1/2 oz. Small Hand Foods Grenadine

1/4 oz. of Small Hand Foods Gum Syrup

dash of absinthe

Shake vigorously with ice and strain into a cocktail glass
