New Heavyweight Champion of the World

When current WWE Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar re-signed with the federation this week, rather than return to the UFC octagon, there were a lot of snarky comments about the validity of the title he currently holds. Namely, you can't be the real champion of a "fake" sport, but of course that's never stopped millions of people around the world from being impressed by that gold around Lesnar's waist. You've gotta respect the belt.

Like I've said a million times in the past, wrestling and whisky have ever so much in common. For example, perhaps you didn't hear that the whisky world crowned a new heavyweight champion of its own this week: the Kavalan Vinho Barrique single malt from Taiwan. That's right: the new WWA champion of the world is a scrappy, underdog of a whisky that every single fan has overlooked since its inception, yet finally got its due when given a shot at the title. Don't agree? Don't think there is such a thing as "best whisky in the world"? Too bad, because there's nothing you can do about it. Just like there's no way you're gonna ever take that title off of Lesnar's waist. Real or not, they've got the gold, and as I've learned in my years as a wrestling fan: it's all about the gold.

Of course, as big supporters of Kavalan over the years, we've got plenty in stock.
