Weekend Plans Confirmed

It's been a hectic week around here, but now I'm ready for one last Saturday push before settling into the weekend. I'm going to put together a big box of booze to take home after I finish my Redwood City shift today. I've got game two of the Giants/Cubs series tonight, a new episode of Westworld to take in this Sunday, and a recovering cat that needed some surgery this week. I've been casually taking care of this stray neighborhood cat for about a year now when all of a sudden I noticed some serious behavioral changes. I finally bit the bullet, bought a pet carrier, and took her over to the emergency room at 6 AM yesterday after I found her huddled in a corner of my car port, lethargic and somber. Turns out she had an abscess in her cheek the size of a golf ball and a fever of 106. They had to operate, drain the infection, and put her on meds with strict instructions of how to care for the wound. No going outside for weeks until she's better. I stayed up and hand fed her last night before cleaning her up this morning. Now I'm off for a run, over to the pet store to find some fun toys, then back home after work for a serious cat party. If you pay for a cat's hospital bills does that make it yours? A major thank you to the ladies from the North Peninsula Veterinary Emergency Clinic who kept this little critter alive and gave me a thorough education. I've never seen her so happy. She's been bouncing around my place all morning, licking me and my wife like a dog. Looks like Caterday is a real thing for me now.

Now what to party with?
