Podcast #2 - Whiskey Expert Chuck Cowdery
Friday, January 14, 2011 at 04:49PM This week I interview author/writer/expert Chuck Cowdery, author of the fantastic Bourbon, Straight and featured contributor to the Malt Advocate and Whisky magazines. We talk about common misconceptions regarding bourbon, the history of the American whiskey industry, and some of the confusion regarding certain products on today's retail market. Chuck's blog is also a great source of information regarding American whiskey topics.

Great interview David! Chuck really has an amazing amount of knowledge about the industry and it's great to hear him pontificate like that. Keep up the good work.
Really enjoyed the interview/chat. Chuck really knows his stuff and David asked
some interesting questions. Nice to hear some background information & history.
David, leave it to you to put together an awesome piece from THE (in my opinion) expert on the American Whiskey industry and history. Chuck's knowledge is simply unrivaled and I think few can challenge that. This interview was informative, taught us all a lot, and I can't wait to hear more of them. I am glad to know that Chuck realized he can come across as a curmudgeon at times. It's my viewpoint that he tends to unfairly criticize the "new" guys and turn the other cheek on the "old guard" of Bourbon. Overall, he's an immense asset to the industry. I would dearly like to see him continue to be critical and call out the deserving, but to remember that he has immense influence on where the industry goes. He can help the little guy a lot more.
Great stuff from Chuck as always, thanks for putting this together.
It's time for part 2. But with the impending trip coming up, my guess it will be a bit before it happens.
Can't wait to hear what else it in the very knowable man's head.
