The Next Barrel - 1991 Aberlour 19 Year Cask Strength - Pre-Arrival

We are on a roll with our barrel purchasing, and expect our newest procurement to arrive shortly after the Clynelish barrel at the end of the month.  I am super excited about this one because we have a lot of customers who love Aberlour, especially the cask strength A'Bunadh, and this is far better for almost the same price!

Yet another amazing barrel from our friends the Morrisons at A.D. Rattray.  For all the fans of the legendary Aberlour A'Bunadh, of which we sell about a case a week, this is an older, richer, more expressive version of what a full-throttle Aberlour can offer you: a nose full of malted cereal and grains, vanilla, and heather, followed by sweet barley flavors on the palate.  The color is light and the elements are balanced, but at cask strength, this is not your everyday Highland softy.  The character of the whisky is interesting and beckons futher tastings, which is really all one can really ask of their dram.  I mean seriously, a single malt at 19 years old, unchillfiltered, no dillution, and from one of Scotland's most prestigious distilleries, for way under $100.  I hope we can keep these deals coming because everyone is winning here.

Aberlour 19 Year Old, A.D. Rattray, "K&L" Single Barrel, Cask Strength Single Malt Whisky $77.99 (CLUB PRICE $70.99)
